Continuing Education Committee
The primary duty of the representative for the continuing education committee is to maintain pre-approved status with the Certification Board for Music Therapy (CBMT). Pre-approved status is awarded from CBMT if the region adheres to CBMT’s standards. The representative works with the Vice President and Vice President Elect of NER to ensure that the annual conference presentations align with these standards. Certain Information is required from presenters, feedback on presentations is required, as is proof that people attended for the required amount of time. Certificates are printed and given at the conference. Names of attendees are submitted to CBMT. CBMT audits a pre-approved provider every three years; the audit is lengthy. The busy time of this committee begins approximately two months prior to conference and ends one month after conference.
