Conference Announcement: Please Contribute to Memorial Song

I would like us to sing Warren Zevon’s song “Keep Me in Your Heart” at the cabaret, in memory of our colleagues who have died this past year. I’m thinking of our Andrea Tooker, and Louise Montello and Evelyn Selesky from MAR. There may be others, as well. Anyone who would like to write verses for the song, please email them to

Please email or handwrite lyrics before or during conference so I can project for a group sing along. You need only write 2 lines, as lines 2 & 4 of every verse are “Keep me in your heart for a while.” Or feel free write an additional bridge. Original lyrics are below; link to a youtube video is

“Keep Me In Your Heart”

Shadows are falling and I’m running out of breath
Keep me in your heart for awhile
If I leave you it doesn’t mean I love you any less
Keep me in your heart for awhile

When you get up in the morning and you see that crazy sun
Keep me in your heart for awhile
There’s a train leaving nightly called when all is said and done
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Keep me in your heart for awhile
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Sometimes when you’re doing simple things around the house
Maybe you’ll think of me and smile
You know I’m tied to you like the buttons on your blouse
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Hold me in your thoughts, take me to your dreams
Touch me as I fall into view
When the winter comes keep the fires lit
And I will be right next to you

Engine driver’s headed north to Pleasant Stream
Keep me in your heart for awhile
These wheels keep turning but they’re running out of steam
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Keep me in your heart for awhile
Keep me in your heart for awhile
Keep me in your heart for awhile

s keep the fires lit
And I will be right next to you

Engine driver’s headed north to Pleasant Stream
Keep me in your heart for awhile
These wheels keep turning but they’re running out of steam
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Keep me in your heart for awhile
Keep me in your heart for awhile
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Thank you to all who applied!

2015 NER Conference Scholarship Announcement

Up to four scholarships are available to Professional NER-AMTA Members to cover the cost of full conference registration for the upcoming spring conference (approximately $200 in value). This does not include fees for CMTE’s or any special meal such as banquet. Any current AMTA Professional member may apply; student members are not eligible. Should an applicant who wins already have paid conference registration, that fee will be reimbursed in the form of a check at the regional conference; with that in mind it is recommended that applicants choosing to register do so prior to the early bird deadline.
Application Process: 1) Please fill out the information form described below. You must be a 2015 AMTA member to apply.
2) On a separate document, write a short essay (250 words or less) stating why you’d like to be considered for a New England Region Conference Scholarship and how you would benefit from it personally and professionally. Do not include your name or specifically identifying information on your essay, as they will be reviewed blindly by a panel of NER music therapists.
3) Email your information form and essay to Linda Bosse, MT-BC, NER Membership Representative at no later than 3/23/2015. Please note that the information form and essays MUST BE included either as a PDF document (preferred) or pasted into the body of the email in order to be received and considered. DO NOT send attachments in other formats such as Microsoft Word, etc.
Rating process: The essays will be assigned an ID #, then distributed and reviewed by a blind review panel of music therapists in the NER region. The panel will return their ratings and the three or four highest ranked essays will be provided with the Conference Scholarships. Scholarship winners will be announced by late March via email and on
***Please note that if you have been the recipient of the NER Conference Scholarship in the past 5 years that we will be unable to consider your application***
Any questions may be directed to Linda Bosse
