A full time (40 hours) Music Therapy position at VA CT Healthcare in West Haven, CT offers a wonderful opportunity to work with our Veterans. VA CT is seeking a Board Certified Music Therapist or eligible Board Certified Music Therapist with strong clinical skills in mental health, hospice, palliative care, and pain management. However, a candidate with strong clinical skills in any of these areas will be considered. There are possibilities to expand into NMT, and opportunities for research. There may be an assignment to the Newington Campus (near Hartford) for 4 hours per week. Starting salary is $70,111 with health benefits, dental options, vacation leave, sick leave, federal holidays, retirement/savings plans, and approved leave time for conferences. Staff Music Therapist

Infinity is looking for a board certified music therapist to join our team immediately. We are looking for a clinician who is passionate about working with individuals with developmental, neurological, and mental health needs. We are looking for a a therapist who is an out of the box thinker who is able to work independently and collaborate as part of a team. We would prefer a clinician with experience working with individuals with Autism, Down Syndrome, Anxiety Disorders, Epilepsy, and Reactive Attachment Disorder.

Hours: The total number of hours is to be determined as clients return for the school year but will likely be 20-26hrs a week, growing to 40hrs/ week for the right clinician. Our clinicians who have started at part-time are typically at or above 30hrs/week within 6-months if they are looking for a full-time schedule. (Please note that our part-time staff receive benefits including health insurance reimbursement)

Schedule: This position will include daytime, afternoon, and evening hours based upon the needs of our clients. This position will be a 5-day work week with 2 consecutive days off. The exact days will be determined based upon client need as we move into the school year schedule. We are able to offer some flexibility with scheduling for the right candidate. We are looking for someone with some flexibility as their schedule is being developed. The vast majority of our clients request services between 3:00pm-7:00pm at night during the week or on 9:30am-4:30pm on the weekends. As a member of our team, you will be expected to attend team meetings at our Southington clinic on Tuesday mornings from 9:15am-11:15am

Location: This caseload will be primarily stationed in Fairfield county. We work in a team-based model. You may be asked to work outside of your region during one-time events, to sub for a therapist, or for various other regions. Salary:  Following a training period at a competitive hourly rate, you will be transitioned to a salaried schedule. In addition, you may be asked to fulfill non-clinical responsibilities such as teaching music lessons or providing music enrichment groups.

About Infinity

About Our Open Position

Hours: 20-25 hours/ week open immediately. This position will be Sunday-Thursday and will include daytime, afternoon, and evening hours. Most of our clients are seen between 3:30-7:30 PM. This position requires flexibility in order to meet the needs of our clients. (This position is expected to grow to 40hrs in 6months or less. The last 2 PT positions became FT within 2 months).

Location: This position will be split between 2 regions in CT including Eastern CT and Hartford County. You will be expected to report to our main clinic 1-2x per week. You will be assisting our team in growing sessions out of our Groton office.

Pay: This position will start hourly during a training period of 4-8weeks and will be salaried at the completion of training. We offer a competitive salary and benefits that grow with your caseload.

Responsibilities: You will provide group and individual music therapy sessions for children and adults with developmental disabilities, mental health disorders, and wellness needs. In addition, you will also be responsible for teaching music lessons to individuals with and without disabilities and designing music enrichment services. To be eligible for this position you must:

• Be currently board-certified or able to obtain your certification during your training period

We are looking for a creative and energetic board-certified music therapist to join our team! We are looking for a clinician who can work cohesively with the therapists on our treatment team as well as be confident in their clinical skills to work independently in the field. We are looking for an individual who has strong vocal and guitar skills, is able to accept and give feedback, and who is prompt to answer emails and phone calls. This position requires a minimum of a one year commitment.

Compensation: Competitive pay based upon experience. This position is paid hourly during a training period and then will move to a salaried position. You will be compensated for your travel time to and from your caseload as well as for your time commuting between clients. Responsibilities: You will  design and implement group and individual music therapy sessions, music lessons, drum circles, and other sessions as needed. You will write assessment reports, goal reviews, and termination reports as well as complete a variety of general administration tasks such as completing time sheets, schedules, etc. You will attend weekly team meetings and participate in, and lead, team trainings, self-care sessions, and intervention swaps.  In addition, you will communicate with our families and contracts to ensure quality of services and set session schedules. Our entire team assists in marketing events as needed. Each of our therapists participate in individual and group supervision so we can grow clinically and musically together!

Qualifications: Bachelors degree in music therapy or its equivalent, MT-BC required. Clinical experience with individuals with special needs and older adults preferred. In addition to excellent musicianship, the successful candidate must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and a strong desire to work with children and adults in a variety of settings. Reliable transportation and a working cell phone are required.

Population: Children and adults with special needs, well elderly, adults with Alzheimers/ Dementia.

Pediatric Music Therapist

Temporary per diem position

Approximately 15-20 hours per week

January – May 2017

 

As a member of the Child Life Department, the music therapist works with hospitalized infants through young adults and their families on medical units at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital.

 

The Music Therapist is responsible for developing, implementing, modifying and evaluating individual and group music therapy sessions to restore, maintain or improve cognitive, physical, emotional and social function of children. Candidates should be familiar with developmental music play, active music-making, improvisation, song-writing and recording, and music-assisted relaxation to meet the needs of hospitalized children.

The music therapist is a member of an interdisciplinary team of artists and creative therapists and regularly collaborates with other staff members and/or co-facilitates groups.
