Mental Health Worker IV

Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center is seeking a Board Certified Music Therapist to join our team in Bangor, Maine. Here’s your chance to make a difference in the lives of residents at our psychiatric center. Amazing benefits package included.

Responsibilities:

  • Working within a multi-disciplinary team to best meet the patients holistic needs.
  • Organizing, administering, and presenting music therapy activities that make a contribution to a resident’s recovery.
  • Reporting the physical, mental, and social progress of the patient.
  • Evaluating residents’ responses to therapy in order to determine residents’ progress in program and need for program modification.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation or related field. MT-BC preferred.
  • Agency information: Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center (DDPC) is a 69-bed psychiatric hospital serving the entire State of Maine that provides services for people with severe mental illness. As a member of a statewide community of care givers, DDPC collaborates with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, their community and personal supports, to provide recovery-oriented, respectful, compassionate, and effective psychiatric care and treatment in the least restrictive, safest, and most therapeutic environment we can create.

FT position Hours are Tuesday – Friday, 8am- 6:30pm. Salary range- $23.60 – $31.63/hr**

Generous benefit package includes: 13 paid holidays, 12 days of sick leave, and 3+ weeks of vacation leave Vacation leave accrual increases with years of service. Health Insurance Coverage – 85%-100% of employee-only premiums ($9,893.52-$11,942.16 annual value). Dental Insurance – 100% of employee-only dental premiums.
