Music Blooms Music Therapy, LLC, based in Burlington, Vermont, is excited to announce a part time opening for a highly qualified board certified music therapist starting late summer/early fall. We are looking for a dynamic clinician to join our motivated and dedicated clinical team. This part time position has strong potential to grow to a full time position within a few months. The right person for this position will be:

-passionate about the profession of music therapy

-a skilled clinical musician with proficiency in voice, guitar and keyboard

-an energetic team player who is a strong communicator in person, on the phone and in writing

-flexible, energetic, dependable, responsible, organized and self-motivated

-in possession of a reliable vehicle and car insurance and willing to drive to multiple sites within the work day

-willing to work in a variety of clinical settings including schools, homes, nursing homes and community settings

-current with MT-BC status, or ready to become board certified immediately upon hire

Music Blooms Music Therapy, LLC, is an established music therapy practice that serves children and adults in a variety of settings throughout northwestern Vermont. Our practice has experienced rapid growth over the last few years increasing our client base and the populations served. Adding the right person to our team is critical to our continued development. Our music therapy practice provides a supportive work environment which includes clinical supervision, continuing education opportunities, self care opportunities and competitive pay rates. Experience working with school population and serving as an interdisciplinary team member as an IEP related service provider would be a bonus.

-looking to start their own private practice

-unwilling to drive as part of their work day

-is not self-motivated and willing to work independently

Location: Music Therapist will work in a variety of locations within northwestern Vermont. The practice is based in Burlington, Vermont. Burlington, Vermont was ranked #2 Among America’s 10 Great Places to Live by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance in 2013. This job will include work in the Champlain Islands, a highly scenic area of Vermont just north of Burlington.

Population: School based music therapy will be part of this position. In addition, children and young adults with special needs, pediatric palliative care, well elderly and adults with Alzheimer’s/Dementia

Starting Date: August, 2018

Description of position: Music Blooms Music Therapy, LLC provides music therapy services to children and adults in a variety of settings including schools, homes, nursing homes and community settings. We are seeking to provide a supportive, team oriented work environment for a highly qualified clinician wishing to be part of a rapidly expanding and exciting private practice in northwestern Vermont. The chosen candidate will join a highly dedicated team working in diverse work environments who are active in promoting and advocating for the profession of music therapy throughout the region and state. Music therapists within the practice are required to design and implement group and individual music therapy sessions, write high quality reports and communicate with families, facilities and agencies to ensure quality of services and set session schedules. Some equipment is provided, along with clinical supervision and continuing education opportunities. Music therapists receive compensation for travel time, planning hours, marketing hours and supervision. A competitive pay rate with initial benefits will be offered and this position will likely transition to full time within six months.
