Music Therapist

Sing Explore Create, LLC is a Music Therapy and Creative Arts Wellness company located in Hanover, MA. We want to ensure everyone has access to quality music and creative arts experiences that build community, strengthen skills, and improve wellbeing. Ideal candidates are interested in providing clinical music therapy services, as well as community music therapy and creative arts wellness programs to our growing client base.

About the Staff Music Therapist (Children/Teen Services) Role:

We are seeking someone who is excited about the opportunity to support:
*Autistic children/teens
*Children/teens with IDD
*Children/teens with ADHD and anxiety
*Children/teens and families seeking community mental health and wellness opportunities

The Music Therapist will help children/teens explore their self-identity, build confidence, make meaningful social connections, strengthen developmental skills, and gain coping strategies that improve their social emotional wellness.

The Music Therapist will provide clinical music therapy services and work with our children’s services team to expand and deliver our innovative creative arts programs that meet the social emotional and wellness needs of the children/teens we serve.

Caseload consists of approximately 25% individual and 75% small group services.

Services will occur at our center and at schools and community programs in Southeastern, MA. Geographic location of each therapist is considered when determining community partner assignments and commute times are kept to a minimum wherever possible. In many cases, therapists are at a single location for a full or half day.

Start Date: June-August 2024

Salary: $58,000+ per year

Requirements:

*Board-certified music therapist or eligible to sit for the exam upon start date (new grads are welcome to apply)
*Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
*Strong music skills (especially voice and guitar)
*Ability to plan and provide quality music therapy sessions that support the individual goals of clients being served
*Strong verbal and written communication skills
*Ability to work both independently and with a team
*Pass a CORI/SORI background check
*Follow American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) and Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) standards of practice.
*Maintain board certification by CBMT and comply with continuing education requirements. Assistance will be given by Sing Explore Create, LLC for this.

Job Description:

*Provide 18-20 direct client contact service hours per week
*Provide 1:1 music therapy and group music therapy sessions to clients in accordance with their treatment plans
*Provide creative arts wellness programs (recreational music groups with focus on wellness and global development, opportunities to include other modalities)
*Complete and document intakes, assessments, and client sessions for music therapy clients.
*Maintain documentation for music therapy clients, utilizing Sing Explore Create, LLC’s documentation system, including weekly session notes, as well as written progress reports
*Effectively communicate with clients/caregivers regarding treatment plans, sessions, scheduling, etc.
*Complete daily timesheets.
*Attend and actively engage in staff meetings and peer/individual supervision
*Assist in program development needs as they arise (primary responsibilities will be planning sessions for new groups)
*Attend open houses, recitals, and other community events as a representative of Sing Explore Create, LLC (typically 1-2 times per year)
*Document hours and work completed each week.
*Perform other duties related to the position and as assigned by supervisor
