Required Education: B.A., B.S., or M.A. in music therapy with completed 1040 hours of clinical training.
Qualifications: Candidates must be eligible for board certification and will be given a time requirement to pass MT-BC exam upon hire. Music therapy students in their final year of school may also apply for this position. Primary experience with infants, toddlers, young children and families required. Additional previous experience with several populations including: early childhood, individuals with disabilities, and older adults a plus; Candidates must be able to work evenings and weekends; Candidates must demonstrate proficiency of clinical musicianship on piano, guitar, voice and rhythmic improvisation.
Population: infants, toddlers, young children & families is the primary caseload; Additional opportunities for a variety of populations as caseload grows.
Job Setting: On site at our center in Dover, NH as well as travel throughout New Hampshire off-site at preschools, hospitals, assisted living facilities, community day programs, and some in-home sessions.
Job Description: Seeking a confident, organized and enthusiastic individual to join our team, part-time with opportunity to increase hours as contracts develop. The Music Therapist will provide both home and facility based, individual and group music therapy to children and adults with a wide variety of needs, however, candidates must be experienced, comfortable and eager to work with the early childhood population. Seeking music therapy candidates who enjoy working with infants, toddlers, young children and families as the primary caseload will include early childhood aged clients and families and preschool work. The Music Therapist may also provide adaptive lessons and facilitate family music enrichment classes. The Music Therapist must be able to effectively communicate with other professionals, conduct assessments, plan, organize, lead music therapy sessions, document and evaluate treatment. Job requires travel, so applicants must have reliable transportation. Compensation for travel and supervision. Allowances for continuing education, supplies and instrument purchases, and mileage reimbursement (in addition to travel pay).
