JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Clinical Manager will oversee the daily operations of the Clinical Team and Standard
Operating Procedures (SOPs).
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Provides direct supervision of Music Therapy clinical staff; evaluates employee
performance and makes recommendations for employment actions.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Oversees the daily operations, performance, and supervision of the Clinical team,
including scheduling, capacity planning, staffing, and regional leadership.
● Provides regular supervision, coaching, field observation, and performance feedback to
ensure high-quality service delivery, clinical fidelity, and professional development.
● Participates in training, onboarding, and ongoing mentorship for new and existing clinical
staff.
● Collaborates with Clinical, Operations, Human Resources, Finance, Development, and
CEO to ensure organizational alignment, program growth, and clinical continuity.
● Develops, implements, and maintains clinical infrastructure, including Standard
Operating Procedures (SOPs), staffing plans, and quality improvement initiatives.
● Oversees administrative and operational responsibilities, including incident reporting
(IRIS), expense approvals, time-off requests, email management, and other
departmental documentation.
● Participates in and leads internal meetings related to clinical operations, admissions,
capacity planning, clinical leadership, and regional management.
● Supports program development through outreach, classroom observations,
certification/recertification process (VMT), fidelity review, and field instruction.● Represents the organization at meetings, conferences, and other professional events as
needed.
● Ensures compliance with organizational policies, professional standards, and the AMTA
Code of Ethics while fostering effective communication and accountability across the
clinical team.
● Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
● Must be a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC)
● VMT Certified or able to eligible for certification within first year in this role
● Prior experience managing or supervising clinical staff
● Prior experience developing, implementing and establishing programming for agencies,
hospitals or institution
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
● Experience working in a social service environment and familiarity with not-for-profit best
practices.
● Experience in a fast-paced, growing company and/or demonstrated effectiveness in a
medium-sized organization where the role includes both strategic and hands-on
responsibilities.
● Ability to lead, work independently, and work in a team environment.

● Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
● Must be able to lift up to fifteen (15) pounds at times
